The Project
In 2003 the New Zealand government appointed Story Inc to design and build the New Zealand Pavilion at the 2005 World Expo at Aichi, Japan.
The Expo’s theme was ‘Nature’s Wisdom’ – the quest for a sustainable civilisation in the 21st century.
The New Zealand pavilion highlighted the great gift and great responsibility of our natural environment. It was designed to be a refreshing interlude in the crowded Expo park. At its heart was a boulder of New Zealand jade that visitors were invited to touch.
Over four million people visited our small, award-winning pavilion.
