The Project

When Story Inc was chosen by the Singapore History Museum to tell the story of the island nation in an interactive exhibition for school-age children, we searched for a storytelling device that would entertain, engage and educate our target audience.

‘Rivertales’ which opened in 2003, was the result – both a history exhibition and an interactive walk-through mystery game. Children shared in the discovery of a skull, a knife and other items found under the banks of the Singapore River. Then they embarked on a ‘Cluedo’-style adventure to discover who died, who killed them, why, and when.

Providing valuable clues and incidental information along the way was a band of ‘virtual children’ whom the real life visitors could ‘interview’ as they learned about their country’s past.
